A platform for new products.
The Mari Signum Technology Products Platform, backed by decades of advanced materials research, is helping our company and our partners engineer new uses for premium chitin. We hold intellectual property that our customers require to create new markets and disrupt industries using chitin. Mari Signum is also positioned to drive innovation in the area of fiber production through electrospinning and 3-D printing of chitin-based products.

Made with Green Chemistry.
Outdated methods of extracting chitin from exoskeletons use highly toxic chemicals and unsustainable, Earth-damaging processes. Not ours: Green Chemistry elegantly extracts chitin molecules from shrimp shells with a pure, non-toxic solvent in a way that doesn’t hurt our planet.
Consciously sourced shells.
Our chitin is derived from shrimp exoskeletons sourced from local shrimp processors, from whom we collect and repurpose shells that would otherwise be dumped into landfills. In addition, we are developing an environmentally sustainable aquaculture farm that will allow us to renewably and organically source chitin in the massive volumes required to serve our customers’ needs.
